"I’m 57 years old. I always did sport; marathons, riding my bicycle throughout Europe and climbing rocks and ice. But I never learned how to defend myself. At the age of 51 I was the victim of heavy violence. That all had a very strong impact on me (and my family) but 4 weeks later I called an IKMF instructor and asked for a try-out training. Since that day (6 years now) I practice Krav Maga. It very much changed my mindset, it keeps me fit and it is great to train twice a week with a group of wonderful people and a fantastic instructor.
A few years ago a guy on a mountain-bike deliberately tried to run me over on a very broad pavement. I just turned around and probably had a „why do you do that?“-look on my face. He threw his bike down and ran up to me with clenched fists. Without thinking, I gave him a defensive front-kick in his stomach. A sort of verbal threatening was his further reaction, and then he took his bike and left the scene. A few moments later I thought: Krav Maga changed you brother!"-- Hans
